About Richard Agemo
Richard Agemo is a writer based in Washington, D.C. He studied in France and earned a law degree before practicing law in the U.S. capital. His short fiction has appeared in New Ghost Stories (The Fiction Desk) and other publications.
A longtime student of the Shakespeare authorship question, he writes about how Shakespeare’s plays reflect the people and politics of the Elizabethan era. His work explores the intersection of literature, power, and concealed identity.
He can often be found at Washington’s museums and theaters—especially at productions of Shakespeare, whose plays continue to inspire his work.
His historical novel Shakespeare Rex is a secret history in which a hidden relationship between Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I gives rise to a claim to the English throne. He is currently seeking representation.
